Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy has been prepared to inform you about the cookies and similar technologies used on the ITECX 2026 congress website and participant panel operated by the Organising Committee of ITECX International Congress (the “Organising Committee”).
Our website uses only one session cookie and one local storage entry, both of which are required to provide the service securely and correctly. No analytics, advertising, profiling or social media tracking cookies are used.
1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device through your browser when you visit a website and are sent back to the site with subsequent requests. By duration, cookies may be classified as session cookies, which are deleted when the browser is closed or after a short period, and persistent cookies, which are stored for longer; by source, as first-party cookies set by the site you visit and third-party cookies set by other domains; and by purpose, as strictly necessary, functional, analytics and marketing cookies.
Local storage (localStorage) is a similar technology that allows the browser to store small pieces of information belonging to a website on your device. Unlike cookies, information in local storage is not sent to the server automatically and remains on the device until it is deleted by the user.
2. Cookies and Similar Technologies We Use
The cookie, local storage entry and third-party resources used on our website are listed below:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| itecx_session | ITECX (first party) | Maintaining your signed-in state, protecting forms against CSRF attacks, remembering the selected interface language | Strictly necessary cookie | Up to 2 hours; the period restarts when the session identifier is renewed for security reasons, and the session ends when you sign out |
| itecx_cookie_ok | ITECX (first party) | Remembering that the cookie notice has been accepted so that it is not shown again | Functional local storage entry (localStorage) | No expiry; until browser data are cleared |
| None (resource request) | Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) | Loading the fonts used on the website | Third-party resource | Subject to the provider’s own policies |
| None (resource request) | jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) | Loading the Bootstrap interface library and icon set | Third-party resource | Subject to the provider’s own policies |
| None (resource request) | cdnjs / Cloudflare (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) | Loading the QR code library on printable certificates and acceptance letters | Third-party resource | Subject to the provider’s own policies |
2.1. Strictly Necessary Cookie
The itecx_session cookie is required for the core functions of the website. It contains only a randomly generated session identifier; the session information itself is kept on the server. The cookie is configured so that it cannot be read by JavaScript (HttpOnly), carries the SameSite=Lax attribute and, when the site is used over a secure connection (HTTPS), is transmitted only over encrypted connections (Secure). Without this cookie you cannot sign in and forms cannot pass security validation.
2.2. Local Storage Entry
The itecx_cookie_ok entry is created in your browser when you click the accept button in the cookie notice and contains only a value indicating that the notice has been accepted. It contains no personal data, is not sent to the server and is used solely to prevent the notice from being displayed again on every page.
2.3. Third-Party Resources
When our pages are displayed, your browser connects directly to the Google Fonts, jsDelivr and cdnjs (Cloudflare) servers to load fonts and interface libraries. During this connection, these providers may record your IP address and browser information (user agent) under their own privacy policies. Our website does not set any cookies through these resources; the providers’ own practices are their responsibility. As the servers of these providers may be located abroad, the relevant information is provided in the transfer abroad section of the Privacy Notice (KVKK).
3. Types of Cookies We Do Not Use
Our website does not use analytics cookies that collect visitor statistics, advertising or retargeting cookies, cookies that build profiles based on user behaviour, or social media tracking pixels. Should a decision be made to use such technologies in the future, this Policy will be updated and, where required by legislation, your explicit consent will be obtained before the relevant cookies are set.
4. Legal Basis
Data processed through the strictly necessary cookie are processed under subparagraph (c) (provision of the service you have requested) and subparagraph (f) (legitimate interest in ensuring information security) of paragraph 2 of Article 5 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698. As also stated in the Personal Data Protection Authority’s guidance on cookie practices, explicit consent is not required for strictly necessary cookies. Accepting the cookie notice on the website does not activate any non-essential cookie; it only records in your browser that the notice has been seen.
5. How Can You Manage Cookies?
You can view, delete or block cookies and local storage entries through your browser settings. In common browsers, the relevant settings are usually found in the following menus:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security (options for cookies and deleting browsing data).
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Apple Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
- Mobile browsers: the privacy and site data section in the settings menu of the browser app or device.
Local storage entries are deleted together with “site data” or “cookies and site data” when these are cleared in your browser. If you block the itecx_session cookie, you will not be able to sign in or complete form submissions; if you delete the itecx_cookie_ok entry, the cookie notice will be displayed again. Menu names may vary depending on the browser version; for details, please consult your browser’s help pages.
6. Changes to this Policy
This Cookie Policy may be updated in line with changes in the technologies used on the website or in legislation. The current version is always published on this page. For comprehensive information on the processing of your personal data, please see the Privacy Notice (KVKK), and for the conditions of use of the website, the Terms of Use.
