Author Guidelines

This page sets out the rules for preparing abstract, full-text and poster papers for the ITECX International Congress on Technology, Education and Contemporary Sciences (ITECX 2026), to be held on-site in Rome and online (hybrid format) on 30 November – 4 December 2026. Papers that do not follow these guidelines may be returned to the authors for correction before being sent to peer review.

1. General Principles and Languages

• Papers may be prepared in Turkish, English or Russian; the language selected in the submission form must match the language of the file.
• The work must be original, previously unpublished and related to one of the subject areas defined on the Aims and Scope page.
• As papers undergo double-blind peer review, the file sent to reviewers must not contain any information that reveals the identity of the authors.
• The text should be written in clear, consistent and academic language; abbreviations should be spelled out at first use.

2. Paper Types and Submission Steps

Paper and presentation types

In the submission form, authors select one paper type — Abstract Paper, Full-Text Paper or Poster Paper — and one presentation type — Oral, Poster or Online Presentation. The subject area is chosen from Educational Sciences, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Health Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technologies, Economics and Management, Law, Fine Arts and Interdisciplinary Studies.

Submission steps

1. Create an account on the platform and log in to the participant panel.
2. In the Submit Paper form, enter the title, abstract, keywords, subject area, paper type, presentation type and language.
3. Add the full name, email address, institution and country of every author and mark the corresponding author.
4. Upload your anonymised paper file and, where applicable, complete your AI usage statement.
5. Confirm the ethics, copyright and personal data (KVKK) declarations and submit the paper.

Once submitted, your paper is registered with a tracking code, a confirmation email is sent to you, and its status can be followed in the My Submissions section of your panel. Abstracts must be submitted by 30 September 2026 at the latest (Important Dates).

3. Title, Author Information and Anonymisation

The title should reflect the content of the work clearly and concisely and may not exceed 300 characters in the submission form. Author and institutional details are entered only in the submission form and are not shared with reviewers. Reviewers see the title, abstract, keywords and the file you upload. Therefore:

• Remove author names, institutions, email addresses, ORCID iDs and acknowledgements from the file.
• Mask identifying self-citations as “(Author, 2024)” and replace institution names in ethics approval and project details with “[anonymised]”.
• Clear the author and organisation fields in the file properties (in Word: File > Info > Inspect Document); check the document properties of PDF files as well.

The masked information is added to the full-text version prepared after acceptance.

4. Abstract and Keywords

• The abstract must contain a minimum of 250 and a maximum of 400 words and be written as a single paragraph.
• It must cover the aim, method, findings and conclusion. References, tables, figures and undefined abbreviations should not be used.
• The same abstract is entered in the submission form and included in the file.
• 3–5 keywords should be provided, separated by commas in the form.
• For papers in Turkish, adding an English title, abstract and keywords to the full-text version is recommended.

5. Full-Text Structure

Full texts should be 3,000–6,000 words long, excluding references, and research papers should follow the IMRaD structure below. Theoretical papers and reviews may use an introduction, main sections and conclusion.

1. Introduction: problem, aim, significance and relevant literature.
2. Method: research design, sample or data source, data collection instruments, analysis procedure and ethics approval details.
3. Findings: results presented without interpretation.
4. Discussion and Conclusion: relation of the findings to the literature, limitations and recommendations.
5. Declarations: funding, conflicts of interest and use of AI.

6. Page Layout and Formatting

Poster papers

Posters should be prepared in a 70 × 100 cm portrait format with type large enough to be read from a distance, presenting the title, aim, method, findings, conclusion and key references in a clean layout.

7. Tables, Figures and Equations

• Tables and figures are placed close to where they are first mentioned and numbered separately (Table 1, Figure 1).
• The number appears in bold and the title in italics above the table or figure; sources and explanations are given as a note below.
• Images must be legible and of sufficient resolution; permission must be obtained for material owned by third parties.
• Equations are written with an equation editor and numbered in parentheses on the right: (1).

8. Citations and References

In-text citations and the reference list follow APA 7. Every source cited in the text must appear in the reference list and vice versa. References are listed alphabetically by the first author’s surname with a hanging indent, and DOIs are included where available.

• In-text: (Smith, 2023); (Smith & Jones, 2022); for three or more authors (Brown et al., 2021).
• Journal article: Surname, A. B., & Surname, C. (Year). Title of the article. Journal Name, Volume(Issue), page range. https://doi.org/...
• Book: Surname, A. (Year). Title of the book (ed.). Publisher.
• Web source: Organisation. (Year, Month Day). Title of the page. URL

9. Ethics, Originality and AI Statement

At submission, authors declare that the work complies with ethical principles and contains no plagiarism. All papers undergo a similarity check; the similarity rate, excluding references, must be below 20%. For research involving human or animal participants, ethics committee approval must be stated in the method section.

If generative AI tools were used, the name and version of the tool and the purpose of use must be entered in the AI Usage Statement field of the form. AI cannot be listed as an author and may not be used to generate data, findings or references. For details, please see the Ethical Principles and Publication Policy.

10. File Requirements and Pre-Submission Checklist

File format and size

Paper and revision files may be uploaded in PDF, DOC or DOCX format with a maximum size of 20 MB. The system checks the file extension against the actual file type; files with altered extensions are rejected. Since a single file is uploaded per submission, all parts of the paper must be combined into one file.

Checklist

• Is the text in Turkish, English or Russian and related to the congress scope?
• Is the abstract 250–400 words, with 3–5 keywords?
• Have the file and its document properties been cleared of author identity?
• Have the formatting requirements and APA 7 rules been followed?
• Have all authors, the corresponding author and the AI statement been entered in full?
• Is the file in PDF, DOC or DOCX format and smaller than 20 MB?
