Aim and Scope

This page sets out the aim, objectives, thematic scope and accepted types of contribution of the ITECX International Congress on Technology, Education and Contemporary Sciences (ITECX 2026). Authors planning to submit a paper to the congress, which will be held in a hybrid format in Rome, Italy, on 30 November – 4 December 2026, are advised to use this page as the reference when assessing whether their work falls within the scope of the congress.

1. Aim

The main aim of the congress is to increase the visibility of high-quality research conducted across technology, education and the contemporary sciences, and to strengthen knowledge sharing and academic collaboration between these fields. ITECX 2026 seeks to offer an international, peer-reviewed academic setting in which the scientific, educational, social, economic and legal dimensions of current developments, notably digital transformation and artificial intelligence, can be discussed from an interdisciplinary perspective.

2. Objectives

1. To provide a peer-reviewed platform where original research can be presented to and discussed with an international scientific community.
2. To foster dialogue between disciplines, especially technology and education, and to encourage joint research initiatives.
3. To support the academic development of graduate students and early-career researchers through reviewer feedback and international presentation experience.
4. To examine the impact of artificial intelligence and digital technologies on education, health, law, the economy and society within a scientific and ethical framework.
5. To make scholarly output permanent and accessible through open-access proceedings books with an ISBN.
6. To strengthen knowledge transfer between academia and the public and private sectors.
7. To broaden participation by reducing geographical and logistical barriers through the hybrid format.
8. To promote the adoption of publication ethics and research integrity principles.

3. Thematic Scope

The scope of the congress comprises the eleven thematic areas below. The sub-themes listed in the table are indicative examples only; original work that is not listed but has a clear connection to the relevant area will also be considered. When submitting, authors select the thematic area that best fits their work.

4. Target Audience

ITECX 2026 is open to a broad community of participants who wish to contribute to the production and sharing of scientific knowledge:

• Faculty members and teaching staff at universities
• Researchers at universities and research centres
• Students, particularly graduate students
• Teachers, school leaders and specialists in education policy
• Professionals working in research, development and practice in the public and private sectors
• Attendees who wish to follow the congress sessions without presenting a paper

5. Types of Contribution and Presentation

Paper types

• Abstract: a text summarising the aim, method, findings and conclusion of the study.
• Full paper: a comprehensive text prepared in line with the Author Guidelines for publication in the Full-Text Proceedings.
• Poster paper: a study whose findings are summarised visually and presented in a poster session.

Presentation formats

• On-site oral presentation: a presentation of approximately 10–15 minutes per paper in the sessions in Rome, followed by a short question-and-answer segment.
• Poster presentation: a poster prepared to the dimensions specified in the Author Guidelines, displayed for the period indicated in the programme, with at least one author present during the poster session.
• Online presentation: a presentation delivered with the camera switched on via the session link sent by email after the programme is published.

Participation as an attendee without a paper is also possible. Papers are uploaded through the paper submission form in PDF, DOC or DOCX format, up to 20 MB; an AI use declaration and the ethics, copyright and personal data declarations must be confirmed at submission. Presentation obligations are described in detail in the Terms of Participation.

6. Language Policy

Papers may be written and presented in Turkish, English or Russian; the language of the paper is indicated at submission. The official languages of the congress are Turkish, English and Russian. The same scientific and ethical evaluation criteria apply to all work, regardless of the language in which it is written. Clear, comprehensible writing that follows the conventions of academic language is one of the criteria considered in peer review.

7. Out-of-Scope Submissions

Submissions of the following kinds are considered outside the scope of the congress and may be excluded from evaluation at the initial screening stage:

• Work that cannot be associated with any of the congress’s thematic areas
• Opinion pieces without a scientific method or scholarly sources, and commercial texts intended to promote products or services
• Work that has already been published or is simultaneously under review at another congress, journal or publication
• Work with a similarity rate of 20% or more (excluding references), or involving plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification
• Research involving human participants or animals without the required ethics committee approval
• Papers written in languages other than Turkish, English and Russian
• Papers that do not comply with the Author Guidelines or are submitted after the announced deadline

8. Expected Outcomes

• Open-access publication of accepted and presented papers in the Book of Abstracts with an ISBN, and of full texts in the Full-Text Proceedings with an ISBN and an e-ISSN
• Studies refined through reviewer feedback that may later be developed into journal articles
• New collaborations and joint research initiatives between researchers from different countries and disciplines
• Interdisciplinary perspectives on current issues in technology, education and the contemporary sciences, together with recommendations for policy and practice
• Certificates of attendance and presentation with a serial number, verifiable by QR code
